Federal employees working in Minnesota are entitled to worksites that are free from recognized health and safety hazards. Both federal agencies and their employees are required to take steps that ensure security in the work environment. Most of these are preventative measures.
The Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry reported that, in 2010, back injuries were three times as common as any other type of injury among workers, accounting for 26 percent of all work injury cases. Common work-related neck and back injuries include herniated disks, spinal subluxations, fractured vertebrae, cervical dislocations, compressed disks, bulging disks and torn disks, among others.
